20% Glycolic Acid Lunchtime Peel Kit with Post-Peel Skin Care
Are you tired of the embarrassment of acne?
Of the sun damage from days spent lounging by the pool and beach?
Would you like to smooth out the fine lines and age spots that catch up with us all eventually?
Then this is the kit for you!
This KIT contains our excellent 20% Glycolic Peel, which allows dead skin cells to slough off, leaving behind a smoother skin surface with clearer pores. It also contains 1-2 oz jar of our Post Peel Moisturizer and 1-2 oz plastic bottle of our Post Peel Cleanser to help sooth your skin during the peeling process. This very light peel results in little to no actual peeling. Glycolic acid particles are the smallest of all acids, meaning this peel penetrates quickly and effectively to break up the glue that holds dead skin cells in place. Use this peel to address dull skin and blackheads or as a touch-up. Your order ships free.
WHAT IS IT: Glycolic acid is derived from sugar cane and is an alpha hydroxy acid. Glycolic acid is the smallest of the fruit acids and is able to penetrate the skin, allowing it to effectively dissolve the 'glue' that holds dead cells together.
WHAT DOES IT DO: Dead skin cells are what cause a dull skin, uneven skin tone, and blackheads and acne. The dissolving action of the glycolic acids allows the dead cells to slough off, leaving behind a smoother skin surface with clearer pores. It also helps stimulate collagen formation under the skin’s surface, which helps plump up the skin from beneath, smoothing out fine surface wrinkles and superficial scars.
HOW DO YOU USE IT: The 20 percent glycolic acid face peel is mild solution that's suitable for all skin types, and both beginning and experienced peelers who would like to maintain their results from stronger peels. There may be some redness right after the peel, but generally there is not much if any actual peeling (hence the name Lunchtime peel).
To use this peel, simply cleanse your skin, set a timer and apply the solution. When time is up, neutralize the peel with a baking soda solution and rinse. We include very clear instructions on how to use this peel and make a solution. After you have applied the peel, your skin may be red. This is normal and will fade quickly. You may wear makeup. About two days after the peel, your skin may start to flake and peel slightly. You can encourage peeling by using warm compresses and taking hot showers, but do not pick at the skin! It must come off when it is ready to, not when you are ready for it to.
WHY USE A 20 PERCENT GLYCOLIC PEEL: Chemical peels are versatile tools that are used to resurface the upper layers of your skin by loosening the bonds between the dead skin cells that dull your skin, while stimulating the collagen beneath the skin to form and align. This plumps up any fine lines and scars from below the surface.
OTHER INFORMATION: This is an ideal peel for beginning peelers. After peeling your skin will be feel softer, look smoother, with improved texture and tone and reduced sun damage. With a peel of this strength, a full course of peels (8-10 peels) are needed to see optimal results.
The 20% is very safe when used as directed, but is a strong, professional strength peel (pH 2) and should be used only as directed. As with all products, a patch test is always recommended to see how your skin reacts to the peel.
As with all exfoliating products, the use of sunscreen is essential to obtaining the results you are looking for. If you are not able to commit to using a sunscreen, this is not the treatment you should choose as you will just damage your skin all over again.
